The full time GDL is a 36-week course which covers the seven Foundations of Legal Knowledge required by the Law Society. The course falls into three parts:
1) An induction programme giving an introduction to the English Legal Method and Legal Research.
2) The main teaching programme, which covers the following seven subjects:
· Contract and Tort
· Land and Trusts
· Criminal, Constitutional / Administrative and EU Law
3) The end of the course is primarily taken up with revision and examinations but it is also used to summarise the inter-relationship between subjects.
You are also required to cover an area of law that goes beyond the core syllabus. We give you a choice of essay titles from a range of topics to be studied independently, culminating in the submission of a 5,000 word research project
