We’ve designed our LPC in conjunction with a range of practices from high street to major corporate firms. National and regional firms continue to feed into the design, especially the electives. These revised electives are available to all our students; we don’t segregate students bound for any firm or group of firms.
We have considered carefully the range of subjects available to give a wide choice within mainstream areas of practice. We feel strongly that students should normally choose electives which build on the compulsory subjects to give a broad base for entering the training contract.
The electives which are intended for students entering practices with a specific city orientation have been designed in conjunction with city firms. They are:
- Debt Finance and Banking
- Private Acquisitions
- Public Companies and Equity Finance
We also have electives designed for commercial and general practices:
- Commercial Law
- Advanced Commercial Property
- Private Client
- Advanced Commercial Litigation / Dispute Resolution
- Family and Child Protection Law
We also offer electives which cover further specialist areas of practice and which could be taken with other electives from the commercial and general practice section; or the public funded section:
- Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Litigation
- Employment Law
